well it's about time!

yesterday the little booger rolled over! she went from back to belly and then immediately back to her back again (she HATES her belly). a few hours later she flopped over from back to belly again. that time she couldn't get herself back over and ended up puking so mommy had to come to the rescue. i'm so excited!

i love my hubby...

he knows how much i LOVE the music (and the movie of course) from moulin rouge, but i don't think they have a good soundtrack (and there are two of them!) so what did my computer geek of a husband do?? he uploaded all the sound from the DVD, then went and cut out just the songs and made me my own soundtrack! he's so wonderful. :)

Sunday at Grandma's

Thank the Lord for Auntie Nicole! Alice doesn't like to sleep at Grandma's house (there is just too much to see!). Normally it's not an issue, but the night before we were out late celebrating Uncle Fred's 21st so she was extra crabby. After much coaxing, Auntie finally got the little booger to take a short nap. I'm not really sure how much it helped though.

Here's Alice with cousin Amanda. She looks very Rice here, but normally you don't have to ask if these two are related they look so similar. Damn Bathje genes.

Alice definitely has a fascination w/ anything we put in our mouths lately. She was pretty mad that I didn't give her a sip of my beer...she did enjoy trying though.

Not much to report here. Unlike cousin Kaylee there is no rolling here. She's close, but she just has no interest in it. She'd rather sit up (which she's getting really good at BTW) or stand. We're really looking forward to our trip out west to see family from both sides. It should be interesting taking care of Kaylee and Alice at the same time just Matt and I. I guess we'll find out real quick if we could ever handle 6 month old twins.

what are you doing to me mom?!

the torture begins.

so mommy thought it would be fun to try and put alice's hair in a ponytail. it is cute, but calling it a ponytail is somewhat of a stretch. maybe unicorn horn is a better name for it.

regardless, this certainly won't be the last time mommy plays dolly with baby. after all it's one of the bonuses of having a baby girl. :)

don't you just LOVE this face?!

i swear i have a pic of me with this same face, only i was eating spaghetti and was obviously a bit older than alice is here. i'll have to dig through my pics...and invest in a scanner.

Happy Easter, love Alice!

Daddy made Alice "hunt" for her basket. It's a silly Bathje tradition that Matt insists on continuing despite the fact that Alice isn't mobile (or able to sit up on her own for any great length of time as this photo clearly illustrates) let alone able to grasp the concept of hunting.

FYI, this was Daddy's Easter basket when he was a kid. He got a little geeked when we dug it out of storage for Alice. It's so nice to finally have a use for all the crap that we've been saving.

The dress she wore was actually one I came across at Dad's house. He thought it was made for me by Grandma Rice so I did a little hunting, and sure enough right on the hem of the dress is a little tag that says "made with love by grandma". The bonnet was what we ended up going with after searching relentlessly through 4 department stores. No one had Easter bonnets, I couldn't believe it! Luckily Babies R Us saved the day. After all it wouldn't be Easter with out an Easter bonnet!

And I can't mention the dress with out mentioning spray on oxy clean. The dress had a few stains that I'm sure had been there since I last wore it. We use the spray on oxy clean religiously on all of Alice's clothes with good luck so I thought I'd try it out on this even though the stains were so old. Wouldn't you know it the stains actually came out! I was very impressed.

Alice seemed unimpressed with her loot. I'm sure this time next year she'll have a greater appreciation for plastic eggs and neon green grass.

Chillin out with Auntie Annie. She was extremely well behaved all day! Even in church (Alice...I don't know about Auntie)!

My FIL being the hilarious man that he is. I'm sure he was saying something funny here.

This kid is pretty used to getting passed around on the weekends.

This is the worlds most annoying toy, courtesy of Auntie Mary. I have to make sure to take the batteries out of that one. By the way, the sweater is one that Mrs. Tracey made for Alice. She's finally big enough to wear it, and boy did she need it since we had flurries that day! Who ever heard of snow on Easter?!

what a strange kid i have...

so Alice will eat pretty much anything you put in front of her:

peas
green beans
bananas
barley (one of her favs)

but this kid HATES peaches! what is up with that??

i guess that just means more grandma's peach custard pie for me :)

FYI: baptism invitations should be arriving in the mail w/in the week. i finally got around to doing them!
