update

so alice and i both had doctor appointments today. me for a follow up from my wicked kidney infection (did i even mention that? oh well a few days after birth i developed a very bad kidney infection that landed me in the ER with a really high temp and such) and she just needed a quick weight check since she wasn't up to her birth weight at her 2 week check up. she has put on just over a pound in a week and a half (so she's up to 8.8). i knew she felt bigger and she's certainly getting some chunk on her finally. as for me i seem to be doing better. i still have cramping in my kidneys and bladder. i just took my last pill on wednesday so my GP wants me to wait until at least tomorrow before giving a sample for him to test to make sure it's 100% out of my system. on a good note my heart rate is finally back to normal! all during pregnancy my resting heart rate was 100 or more and today it was 65! whew! i forgot what it's like to NOT feel every beat of your heart.

matt, alice, and i are heading down to j'ville next tuesday after work. it should be a good time. we're planning on heading over to joann and marty's with dad, james, and charles either on thanksgiving or the day after like we have for the past two years. i'm excited for grandma and the rest of the fam to see little alice. and of course i'm excited to see all of them since it's been a while. we're going to leave on sunday and either monday or wednesday matt and i are heading downtown (auntie nicole and uncle paul are happily watching alice) to see the king tut exhibit at the field museum. not sure what else we're going to do while we're there, but we plan on staying at a hotel over night. it will be weird being away from alice for that long, but i welcome the break. and i know paul and nicole (and the kids) are totally looking forward to watching her. matt has that whole week off so we plan on spending most of it here at home. it will be so nice to have matt at home with us during the day again since he didn't really get to spend a lot of time at home when alice was born. that is going to be really REALLY nice.

oh, i forgot to add to the list. alice has pointy gelfling ears like her uncle james. :)

also, the date of the baptism is going to be changed. my SIL who is the godmother just got a new job (YAY!) and she can't ask off for 90 days (booo!). there is a chance she'd have that day off anyway, but that doesn't make planning very easy. so it will either be in january or april (they don't do baptisms during lent so march is out). will post with the date when we decide.
