SUPER BABY!!!

she's getting so big!

well alice had her 2 month check-up and shots yesterday. she's now a whole 12 lbs (7.8 at birth) and 25 inches long (21 at birth)!! her torso doesn't seem to be super long, but boy are her legs! she seems to be right on target in terms of reflexes, and her doctor is incredibly surprised at how well she holds her head up (she can go 10 minutes, easily). she took the shots like a trooper, but boy did it kill mommy to see her in such pain. she was only a little bit cranky the rest of the day so i'd say we got lucky she didn't have a reaction.

i talked to the doc about her reflux issues. they seem to be getting better since we increased the nipple size, so he wants us to give that a few more weeks to see if the issues go away completely. i was happy to hear that b/c i really didn't want to put her on meds. we mentioned to him that the past few nights she's been sleeping A LOT at night. she went 10-12 hours between feedings! i never set an alarm b/c she always wakes me up when she needs food, so imagine my surprise when i saw the time. he said to keep an eye on her, it may just be she was over tired from the holidays. so last night i set the alarm to go off at 8 hours between feeds...i heard her making her "i'm waking up" noises on the monitor so i just left her alone. sure enough a half hour later she was awake. 8 1/2 hours over night seems a lot better to me than 12 hours. so we'll see if she's back to her old self again.

now if she could just have a chat with her cousin kaylee...

ok so this is what i wanted to use for the birth announcement...but shutterfly suggested i not print it so i didn't. i still like the one we used, but this one is much cuter in my opinion so i thought i'd share it as well.

this was right before she had milk come out of her nose. damn reflux. i can't wait until her 2 month appointment on the 27th. hopefully her doc will have some ideas on what to do for her.

xmas came a little early...

dad, james, and charles were here this weekend. james flew to south africa yesterday out of o'hare so they decided to come up a day or so early and hang out. we were intending on doing xmas gifts, but the men all still have to do their shopping. typical. :)

charles got some crown royal

dad got a boyscout tie (tie tack is back ordered)

and james got a new moccisan kit to replace his scuzzy old ones.

this technically wasn't a xmas gift, but alice got a beautiful knit bunny from her great aunt mary along with some blocks that are supposed to predict her future. oh and she's also wearing the sweater great aunt mary made for her.:)

and just for good measure, here's the tree with the moravian star dad bought us for xmas.

bath time...

so mommy gave alice a bath today. she was pretty stinky from the lazy mouth she has.

all was well and she made it through the bath w/o crying.

until mommy washed her hair. right after i took this picture she started bawling.

alice has a bad case of cradle cap which the treatment for is rub with baby oil and a wash rag, then shampoo as usual. guess mommy didn't get all the baby oil out of her hair b/c this is what it looked like when it dried. so it looks like alice is due for another bath tonight. :)

...and so does mommy. reflux kicked in this week and she doesn't want to be put down and she rarely sleeps unless it's with me or daddy. it's making it hard to get things done around here. i'm so glad we got the plug in model otherwise i'd go through a lot of batteries this week! her 2 month checkup is just after christmas so hopefully things won't get worse before then.
